Vintage 1967 George Of The Jungle cartoons: "Watch Out For That Tree !!!"

George of the jungle is a parody of Tarzan the ape man (tv sitcom series). The cartoon series ran from September 1967- December 1967 with 17 episodes. George is a numb-skulled big-hearted ape man who is always called upon by the District Commissioner to save the inhabitants of the jungle territory of Mbwebwe Province in Africa from various problems.

George is shown swinging through the trees and smashing into things as the theme song plays on ( "watch out for that tree !"). He is constantly falling out of the treehouse and crashing to the ground. There are a number of other running gags including George forgetting that he lives in a treehouse and being constantly reminded of this fact.

George of the Jungle has two friends who live in the jungle with him: an ape named "Ape" and a talking parrot named Tooky Tooky. The parrot is very intelligent and is often found thinking up new and clever ways to solve problems and to help George out in his adventures. George also has another pet, an elephant named Shep who imitates being a dog. His Lady friend  is named Ursula who is a version of Jane in the (tv sitcom series).

George has two frequent enemies. They are a pair of stereotypical hunters named Tiger and Weevil. Tiger having a pencil moustache and speaks in a uppity Oxford accent. Weevil speaks like a pirate and wears and shorts with a bush hat. The other one of George's recurring enemies is a mad scientist named Dr. Chicago.

George is not very smart but has a keen sense of jungle survivor skills that get the job done. He carries an animal call phrase book, that he can use to call for help and he uses it to his advantage. However, he usually gives the wrong call out (lol).

Bill Scott is the voice of George

June Foray is the voice of Ursula

Paul Frees is the voice of District Commissioner

Also: Daws Butler additional voices and Hans Conried narrator

Now let's show a vintage George Of The Jungle cartoon....

The Herculoids 1967 ..."First Animated Cartoon With Dinosaurs and Spaceships Believe It or Not !"

Talking about some really cool animation with spaceships and dinosaurs and alien creatures, you couldn't go wrong on Saturday morning in 1967. The space family which wore prehistoric cave dwelling clothing and lived on planet Amzot. Zandor (the father), Tara (mother) and Doro (son) protect themselves with some pretty cool pets..."I guess you could call them that". The pets are called the Herculoids and they are: Zok the laser dragon who can shoot a laser beam from its tail, Tundro a rhino that shoots out balls of rocks from its horn, Igoo who is ape made of rock which has incredible strength, and Gloop and Gleep that are blob like creatures that can shape shift. They fought off robots, mad scientist, mutants and many more weird villains that attacked their planet.

The animated cartoon debuted on September 9th, 1967, on CBS and was produced by Hanna-Barbera and ended September 6th,1969. They were created and designed by Alex Toth.

"Inch High Private Eye" 1973... Vintage Animated Cartoon

I personally really liked this spoof cartoon, based off the series of "Get Smart" 1965-1970. Don Adams played the private eye character Maxwell Smart, and "Inch High Private Eye "is a cartoon character based off of him. Even though the animated character does not resemble Don Adams, his antics and actions mimic the famous actor.

"Inch High Private Eye" is a detective who solves mystery type crimes. He gets help from his niece Lori, her body building muscular friend named Gator and their dog Braveheart to help solve cases.

The Pinkerton Detective Agency was a popular detective agency that was involved in many of the most infamous crimes of the late 19th and early 20th century. Finkerton Detective agency was a spoof off the Pinkerton agency "Inch" worked for in the animated cartoon series.

The Finkerton Organization, was a secret crime-fighting group that was run by Mr. Finkerton. "Inch" and his helpers had a unique automobile called The Hugemobile in which they used to fight crime. Mr. Finkerton wanted to fire "Inch" if he failed, but somehow "Inch" always cracked the case. Mr. Finkerton's  agency was to protect the town of Finkerton from Crime. The cartoon series only lasted from September 8th to December 1st of 1973 but put out about 13 episodes. Famous actors voices you might remember from the cartoon .....Jamie Farr:

Did You Know That" Google" Possibly Got It's Name From A Cartoon Character ? "Say What"

This post will be short and sweet but very informative, I hope.

In the 1919 a cartoon character named Barney Google was created by Billy De Beck, he was cartoon character in the "Snuffy Smith" cartoon comics. This character was first published in newspapers and magazines and would become very popular and would be seen in more than 900 newspapers in the USA and other countries also. Barney Google road a horse named Spark Plug. This was a cartoon character which was real popular among children.

In 1930 a mathematician named Edward Kasner came up with a number that had a bunch of zeros in it, a hundred to be exact.  He asked his nephew Milton, aged 9, to give him a name for this new figure. He said "Google", after his favorite comic strip Barney Google. Edward Kasner Changed it a bit to Googol, and he also invented the name googolplex.

The Google founders had their original name as Googol, but when they registered the domain name, they misspelled it as Google.

Barney Google was patented in 1923 and then copyrighted in 1924 which was good till 2018 (95yrs). Google company was founded in 1998. Did Google pay for the name ? Probably not since a nine-year-old thought of the name many years before the internet and domain names. But if you Google it..." did google, get it's name from Barney Google the cartoon?" you bring up some interesting history about it... and Google admits they got it from Barney Google😬

Not Many Cartoon Lovers Remember The Flash Cartoons 1967..".Do You Remember Anything ?" Very Little

The reason you don't probably remember this cartoon was because of the lack of history, there were only three episodes made. "The Flash" was a police scientist named Barry Allen who could turn himself into the world's fastest human with his ring. Believe it or not a full Flash suit would come out of his ring and in a blurred motion he becomes "The Flash". Not only could he run superhuman fast but could run on water, run up the side of tall buildings, vibrate through solid objects, create whirlwinds, and could master the barriers of time and space....."but I never seen him do that in any of the 3 cartoon episodes, maybe if they made more episodes, we could have seen that happen 😮. He has some type of machine in his lab called a hyper-velocity, which helps him catch other speedsters with similar abilities to his. "The Flash" is also a partner in the "Justice League" which is other Superheroes.

Episodes Are:

1. The Chemo- Creature

2. Take A Giant Step

3. To Catch A Blue Bolt

Flash was also in 3 "Justice League Of America" episodes.

Filmation Asso.(Duconvy Productions)

Now here we go.....
